Welcome to "Common Cartography Crimes" – A Playful Look at Mapmaking Mistakes
Have you ever wondered what happens when you throw all the mapmaking rules out the window? In my new YouTube series, Common Cartography Crimes, I’m diving into the world of "what not to do" in cartography. But don’t worry, this isn’t about mocking anyone’s efforts. It’s all about having fun while learning the dos and don’ts of fantasy mapmaking.
What’s the Series About?
In each episode, I take on a new “cartography crime,” from exaggerated coastlines to perfectly round forests, and show how breaking the rules can lead to some entertaining (and often ridiculous) maps. The goal? To highlight common pitfalls in a lighthearted way while proving my points with plenty of creativity.
