As a professional cartographer, I’ve spent years designing maps that are not just visually stunning but also practical to create. My work has given me a deep understanding of what map-makers need, whether they’re crafting worlds for storytelling, gaming, or personal projects. That’s why I’ve developed my asset collections for Wonderdraft: to make map-making more accessible, flexible, and enjoyable for everyone.

If you’re new to Wonderdraft, it’s a fantastic tool for creating maps without the need for drawing skills. Using assets (pre-made illustrations you can customize and place directly onto your maps) you can bring your fantasy worlds to life in no time. My collections are designed to help you do just that, combining quality, practicality, and style to suit all kinds of creative visions.

What Makes My Collections Special?

Together with my talented partner illustrators, Emre Selcuk and Hilmi Korkmaz, we’ve worked to create unique styles, ensuring there’s something for every kind of map-maker. They’re easy to use, with just a few copy-paste steps to add them to Wonderdraft, and are designed to give your maps a professional touch without complicating your workflow. Here’s a closer look at what each collection offers:

Dotty Cartography: Playful and Creative

The Dotty Collection is the most adorable of the bunch, featuring a clean stippling (dot-based) shading style that adds a whimsical charm to your maps. With over 2,500 assets, this collection lets you bring incredible detail to your designs, from floating settlements to tiny carcasses, all with a playful and precise touch.

Because Dotty focuses on variety and creative potential, it’s constantly growing. Whether you’re building vast continents or intricate towns, this collection makes every element of your world feel carefully crafted yet effortlessly charming.

Old-School Cartography: Vintage Fantasy Charm

The Old-School Collection takes inspiration from old comic books and sketchy illustrations, offering a timeless, vintage vibe that’s perfect for classic fantasy settings. With over 3,700 assets, it’s my largest collection and gives you everything you need to design maps that feel like they’ve been pulled straight out of a legendary fantasy tale.

If you’re looking for that nostalgic charm with a touch of artistic imperfection, Old-School is the way to go. It’s incredibly versatile and perfect for creating maps with a truly authentic, hand-drawn feel.

Aquarel Cartography: Artistic Balance

The Aquarel Collection bridges the gap between Dotty and Old-School, combining watercolor techniques with a soft, natural aesthetic. It’s neither overly playful nor too serious, making it a great choice for minimalist or artistic maps.

While Aquarel is the smallest collection right now, it achieves something unique: forests that look fully hand-painted—something no other asset collection offers. It’s also fully customizable, so you can tweak the colors to match your world’s theme. Once the Dotty and Old-School collections reach their full potential, Aquarel will become our centerpiece, offering the ultimate blend of creativity and refinement.

Let’s Learn and Create Together

If you’re new to Wonderdraft, using assets or unsure how to get started, I’ve created two courses to help you along the way:

  • Wonderdraft Basics: This beginner-friendly course will guide you through the software’s tools and features, building your confidence step by step.
  • Starting Fantasy Cartography with Wonderdraft: Once you’ve mastered the basics, dive into this course to learn map-making techniques step by step. Both courses are designed to make the process simple and enjoyable, so you can focus on bringing your world to life without getting lost during the mapping process.

Whether you’re experimenting with maps for the first time or looking to take your skills to the next level, my goal is to make fantasy cartography accessible, fun, and rewarding. Your feedback and ideas are always welcome, so we can continue improving and growing these collections together.

Happy mapping!
